How do I check my MacBook battery health?

You can check your MacBook battery condition in System Settings → Battery → Battery Health on newer versions of macOS.

You can also view the battery cycle count in System Information → Power.

If macOS shows Service Recommended, or the battery has significantly reduced capacity or unusually high cycle count, it may need to be replaced.

What does “Service Recommended” mean on a MacBook battery?

Service Recommended” means macOS has detected that the battery’s ability to hold charge has reduced or that the battery is not functioning normally.
